Macro Plastic er en musikdramatisk hybridforestilling over plastikkens historie. Duoen LYD PORTs performance er en både billedskøn og afskyvækkende fortælling om overforbrug og forurening, men også om plastikkens fantastiske anvendelsesmuligheder. Materialet kryber helt ind i musikkens knitrende collager, blandet med popvokal og klassisk kor. Selv kostumerne er fabrikeret af plastik, ligesom bagtæppet er mikroskopoptagelser af plastikpartikler. Macro Plastic inviterer til alternative overvejelser over samtidens muligheder for forandring.
Den tværæstetiske duo, LYD PORT udgjort af Mai Ane Pil og Morten Schmidt, har siden 2017 skabt lydinstallationer og scenekunst omkring temaer som det antropocæne, naturen samt mennesket og maskinen.

"I Macro Plastic er plastik en geologisk kraft, som både tærer og beriger gennem dets cyklus på jorden fra plankton til olieraffinaderiet, til produkt og ud i naturen igen som støvskyer af mikroplastik. Vi er optaget af give en sanselig og højstemt vinkel til plastikforurening som tema, hvor vi dissekerer materialet i en grad så man er i tvivl om hvad der er syntetisk og hvad der er natur, i et forløb der er næsten flimrende intenst og på samme tid næsten kvælende langsomt og meditativt som et ulmende hav."

Macro Plastic is a musical hybrid performance about the history of plastic. The duo LYD PORT’s performance is a picturesque and abhorrent tale of overuse and pollution, but also of the countless amazing uses of plastic. The material creeps right into the crackling collages of the music, mixed with pop vocals and the sounds of a classical choir. Even the costumes are fabricated from plastic, just like the back curtain consists of microscopic footage of plastic particles. Macro Plastic invites you into alternative reflections on contemporary opportunities for change.
Since 2017, the cross-aesthetic duo LYD PORT, consisting of Mai Ane Pil and Morten Schmidt, has created sound installations and performing arts around themes such as the Anthropocene, nature, man and machine.

"In Macro Plastic, plastic is a geological force that both devours and enriches through its cycle on earth from plankton to oil refinery, to product and into nature again like dust clouds of microplastics. We are dedicated to giving a sensuous and pompous angle to plastic pollution as a theme, where we dissect the material to a degree so that one is unsure what is synthetic and what is nature, in a process that is almost shimmering intensely, and at the same time almost suffocatingly slow and meditatively like an smoldering sea."
